University Distinguished Professors
The University Distinguished Professors award honors faculty who have made sustained contributions of consistent educational excellence and have demonstrated outstanding commitment to undergraduate education.
University Distinguished Outreach Faculty
The University Distinguished Outreach Faculty award recognizes faculty who have made outstanding contributions to outreach at the University of Arizona, in the State of Arizona and the nation.
Distinguished Scholar Award
The Distinguished Scholar awards are granted to three outstanding recently tenured and mid-career faculty who are making transformative contributions to their disciplines and to our University’s teaching, research, and outreach priorities.
Honorary Degrees
Honorary degrees recognize distinguished contributions to the university, the state, the nation, or the world.
Emeritus Status
With the approval of the President, faculty who retire from the University in good standing after serving 15 years or more may be given the title of emeritus.
Regents Professors
The Regents Professors, the highest of faculty ranks, is reserved for full professors with exceptional achievements that have brought them national or international recognition.
Early Career Award
The Early Career Scholars Award recognizes outstanding early career faculty who are at the forefront of their disciplines and make highly valued contributions to the teaching, creative activity, and service priorities set out in the University's Strategic Plan.
Provost's Author Support Fund
The Provost’s Author Support Fund is available to faculty or academic professionals whose workload description includes the expectation of research and publication, and who hold appointments in units reporting directly or indirectly to the Provost.
Provost Award for Innovations in Teaching
Former Interim Provost Jeff Goldberg established the Provost Awards for Innovations in Teaching to recognize “candidates whose teaching portfolios and instructional effectiveness merit special recognition."
University of Arizona Foundation Leicester and Kathryn Sherrill Creative Teaching Award
Recognizes excellence in the art of teaching at all levels, but the Foundation places particular emphasis on teaching at the undergraduate level.
Gerald G. Swanson Prize for Teaching Excellence
The Prize was created through a gift from the Thomas R. Brown Foundation in honor of Professor Emeritus Gerald G. Swanson to recognize excellence in undergraduate teaching.
Henry and Phyllis Koffler Prizes
The Koffler Prizes, established through the generosity of Henry and Phyllis Koffler in 2000, recognize outstanding accomplishment in the areas of teaching; research/scholarship/creative activity; or public service/outreach.
